Passion and 20/20 Eternal Vision By: KB © 5.14.14

REAL TALK from KB: I’m not going to do my normal sociopolitical rant…I’m going to talk about something near and dear to my heart: EDUCATION.

I returned to school in ’04. I had my AA and I went back to get my BA….I’m deep in debt as a result but let me say without hesitation…you cannot assign a value to education and critical thinking but Americans seems to believe that education can be assigned a value (now here’s a rant – the reality of this line of thinking is that it’s a way to utilize exclusionary practices. “Education is not for THOSE people” The same practice that prevented slaves from learning to read)

But I digress, I wanted to talk about all the graduates entering the world driven by passion…GUARD that drive and conviction. I've seen too many people start out in life on fire and then fizzle out because they let life smother their passion.

My degree is in Humanities (which pretty much says I like the arts) with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I will NEVER stop writing. I will NEVER stop sharing my thoughts on God, social justice, race relations, LBGTQ issues. I will NEVER stop joking and looking for the positive.

The world didn't give me my joy (passion) and the world cannot take it away……it’s all about your perspective. You can choose to look at the problem or you can choose to see God and the solution.

What’s your prescription? How’s your vision?
