I didn’t suffer love

I enjoyed every minute of it

Albeit rocky or smooth

I didn’t suffer love

I went to each situation hoping for the best

And at times love blessed me beyond measure

But life stepped in like a raggedy thief and

Little by little stole my treasure

I didn’t suffer love

I held on tight and have sweet memories untold

But in some situations what I was clinging to was merely Fool’s Gold

Iron pyrite, a basic rock, I thought it was riches deep

Iron pyrite no wealth, no treasure

Regardless of the monetary value of things

I’m still blessed beyond measure

I didn’t suffer love
