Good Morning Facebook, Blogspot and Twitter.....
I woke up this morning to the aroma of "Pepe le
Pew" a skunk had been traveling
through the backyard and had made his presence known. The smell was so strong
that it woke me out of a sound sleep. The thought of fragrance and aroma
flooded my brain as I tried to catch my breath; I thought about the Bible and
all its mention of and use of fragrance. I thought about frankincense and myrrh.
Did you ever stop to think about your
Biblical fragrance and just what that means?
2 Corinthians 2:13 -15 …13 I
had no rest for my spirit, not finding Titus my brother; but taking my leave of
them, I went on to Macedonia. 14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us
in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge
of Him in every place. 15 For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among
those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;…
What is your fragrance?
Do people know you as a representative of truth or do they identify you
by the soil and soot of this world? Do people come to you because they are
seeking truth or do they come to you because they know you will team up with
them in gossip and character assassination?
Ephesians 5:1-2 Therefore
be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also
loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a
fragrant aroma.
Proverbs 27:9 Oil and
perfume make the heart glad, So a man's counsel is sweet to his friend.
Funny thing about the use of fragrance in the Bible...they
were used for both anointing and for burial; so again I'm led to ask : What's
your Biblical fragrance?
