Self-Righteousness BY: KB © 12.12.14

Good Morning folks,

I woke up early enough but I got a really late start writing…I have been wrestling with this word and how to bring it for some time and I’ve come to the conclusion that there is just no delicate or diplomatic way to broach the subject because the subject in and of itself makes people swollen with PRIDE. I know I’m about to step on toes, crush corns and stomp bunions with this one: as my housemate said yesterday, I love this quote: Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

I’m pretty easy going for the most part..I do have my issue with pride so I go off the rails periodically when I feel I’m disrespected or being played; I think we can all attest to that character defect on occasion. But, every so often you run across that special individual that are so waaaaaaaay over in Canaan, all off in glory or so stuck in their piety that they are no Earthly good. I struggle with this because I cannot believe that in this day and age that there are still people who refuse to evolve and grab hold of the true meaning of the gospel; LOVE! I’m not talking about blindly accepting everything that comes your way, let’s keep it real, there are just some things that believers cannot do, should not do and should not accept. 1 Corinthians 10: 23-24   23 All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. 24 Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor.…

But we must learn to battle, refute and refuse these things without judgment and condemnation Matthew 18:15 – 16 15 "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16 "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.…

Galatians 6: 1 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

Nowhere does it say that you get all indignant. Nowhere does it say you publicize his/her business. Nowhere does it say to condemn and castigate.

When is the last time you prayed for anyone with selfless motives? When the last time you acknowledged a broken spirit and did what is was in YOUR power to restore it?

My judgment -  is that we MUST stop treating people like things; we MUST stop treating people like they’re disposable. We MUST stop assessing people’s value and worth based on our desires…
