Does it bring life? BY: KB © 1.10.15

John 10: 9-11    …9"I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. 11"I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.…

Does it bring life? Am I  living the abundant life promised to me? Who or what am I allowing to lead me? Questions that I find myself asking more and more.

I am watching and enjoying God fulfill His promise of Ephesians 3:20  in my life and I continue to act as if I have ADHD. Then I remember a line from the movie The Usual Suspects "The greatest trick that the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist." and that's exactly what he does!

I keep saying that the enemy uses US to get US ...yet, he is so good at it that we don't recognize the subtleties of his attack until we are in the midst of our distress.

Questions bring about clarity. Questions bring knowledge. Questions bring enlightenment....God commands that we ask and seek Matthew 7: 7   "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

There are 83 verses in the Bible that mention seeking God.....what are you actively pursuing? Does or will it bring life? Did you seek God before you went after or entered into it?

How ya livin'?!!!!!

Transition

Back Into Egypt? BY: KB © 1.10.15

I'm going to share a bit about something that recently became apparent to me. I know it's one of my major character defects and I'm sure it's something that I have in common with many of you. I know I have a tendency to ignore it until I'm in the middle of the discomfort of MY choices. Yes...I said it!!! BOOM!!!! DEAL WITH IT!!!! The discomfort of MY CHOICES!!!!

We, myself included, have a tendency to never fully acknowledge the consequences of OUR behaviors. We are content at looking at the things that fell into place to complicate the matters. We're comfortable blaming the people, places and things used to change our focus and behaviors. We offer up prayers for changes in universal laws, meaning we want God to change the outcomes but we neglect to look at the behaviors that caused the situation.

I was recently "delivered" from something and once set free I really enjoyed the freedom that the situation offered and just as I was beginning to relax in my new found freedom thing began to happen....I found myself lost in unfamiliarity. I didn't know what to do because the excuses were gone.  I was just like the Israelite in Exodus 16: 2-3   …2 The whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. 3 The sons of Israel said to them, "Would that we had died by the LORD'S hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

I found myself mentally and emotionally headed back into "Egypt" because I was unfamiliar with freedom.  The more I thought about it I realized that I was in the middle of a subconscious faith crisis! I realized that while I was trusting God for some things I was not willing to allow Him access to ALL things. I was willing to go into slavery and be fed any ol' thing rather than trust God to provide. God took me to the wilderness to teach me. He was providing manna and I was rejecting it.

Here's what I learned in the experience:
1 Corinthians 6: 12-13    12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.…
I also that God takes you to the wildness and feeds you just enough to get through your day....you're hungry but the hunger should be for Him. He provides enough in a day to sustain.....

I GET IT!!!!!

Are you romanticizing your own demise?  Are you headed back to slavery? What are you trading yourself into ?

How ya livin"?!

Assumed BY: KB © 12.22.14

You assumed to know my intent
you presumed to believe it was directed toward you
you resumed your behavior
you perfumed the stench of it all
you consumed the best of me
without considering the possibility
of a potential fall

now things have to be exhumed

Misguided
Missteps
Miscues
Mistakes
They can all cause a bit of pain
But trials are not a lost cause
But merely a “try again”
After a brief pause
Not an all is forgiven
To repeat the same old again
But only after some work is done

To search your soul within

My NEW year

REAL TALK from KB: Everybody who knows me knows that I don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I make promises to myself and then I set the things up in such a way that I can’t back out of it or quit it…

This year was no different…I promised that I would read a book a month this year. I keep my Nook fully charged and I’m reading every moment I get. I currently have two books going.

My sister asked me to do something for her over the holidays and I did but the stretching help highlight the fact that I was woefully out of shape. I said I was going to work out. I have and my shoulders and arms are sore as all get out.

My passport will be a done deal on Monday….

(Just added) Bunny and Munkey will be reunited and I can/will step up with my connection with these amazing grown women

Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and KB Road To....travel chronicles

REAL TALK from KB: I have my appointment for my passport on Monday….yay!!! It was supposed to be on Wednesday 1/7 but when I got my original birth certificate out I realize that the official seal was no longer visible. So I ordered a new one from NY on Wednesday morning. Hats off to the Vital Records Department of my hometown, I received my new certificate on Thursday without requesting any special delivery services….so Monday it’s on.

My sister the “Carmen San Diego” of the family has been planning vacations for me since Christmas…. she travels by her lonesome on a regular so I trust her travel sense. Yesterday she asked a few more travel related questions….so I am making it happen.
